If you find that you have a bit of a breathing or slight walking issue I would recommend driving to the far end of the campsite and just doing the long set ( of approx. 200 give or take ) stairs instead. There are a few spots to rest at the side of the stairs for those that need it and a lovely bench at the top of them too. This is well worth it even doing just the stairs until you can get yourself into better shape to hike the beautiful trail to it. Take your camera, picnic lunch and something to swim in also. The water is so clear and fresh and it makes you feel like modern life is so very far from you too
