Beautiful walk in the woods, long suspension bridge over a creek,
Lots of elevation change, muddy in fall and spring, hundreds of tree roots to walk over or around,
Amazing beach when you arrive, go left on beach to see a waterfall,
Plan for an hour walk each way, about. 2 k each way,
Path has orange markers every 75 feet so you can always find the trail,
Plan to be back at the parking lot before dark, it get in the thick forest really early, not a good path tone walk in the dark.
Rated at intermediate difficulty.
China Beach is about a 20 minute walk from the parking lot and an easier trail.

We walked this trail Dec 2 2018. I wood never call it easy, nothing but tree roots, muck or fist-sized rocks. It was very poorly-marked as well. My husband & I were soon joined & passed) by 3 other couples wandering in the woods not knowing which way to go. Back-tracking, many trodden paths everywhere. There were a few ribbons of different colors but easy to get lost. On the way back up from the beach I counted 165 steps before trekking over endless tree roots the 2 km. to the car. Lots of off-leash dogs too.

Did it the 1st W/E of March with my son and grandkids age 7&3, it was interesting in some spots and little scary with the kids but as long as they hold ur hand they are fine. Still really muddy in spots and we, along with a few others, accidentally got off the trail but realized it quick enough to get back on it again. Would be nice if it was tagged or marked more often as it is easy to track of the main trail since they r a lot of side trails off of it now. It is beautiful and for the most part peaceful walk We also saw a number of dogs on the trail but I was kind of wondering why people would let them run off leash when there is wildlife out there. Unless they’re really obedient they’re likely to be gone for good if they give chase to something or start following their nose.
Gave it 4 stars only because it is easy to accidentally get off the main trail due to the number of side trails.

Unlike what the website suggests, this walk IS dog friendly. Saw at least 50 dogs when we walked it on Family Day in February.
