Spectacular place! We did the hike down to the beach and then along the Coast Trail past the point where you can go back to the parking lot and continued on Beechey Head. That part of the hike is a lot more difficult with several rocky areas and climbing.
The pictographs we could not see at all unfortunately. They are clearly very faded. We are going to try again next time though.
We want to go back and make an entire day out of it and do the full loop around which looks to be over 10 km.
Definitely wear proper footwear for this. I saw many people wearing flip flops and I could tell it became problematic for them once they realized the trails became rocky and more dangerous. It also can get quite windy and cooler on the back part of the Coast Trail so make sure you bring appropriate clothing as well.

A steep section of the route that passes several trees in the middle of the trail to Mount Work.

I don't think dogs are actually allowed on the sandy beach at Aylard Farm at all, even leashed, June 15 to September 15. Please review CRD Bylaw 1465 and correct the website. Glen Lake and Langford Lake beaches are the same.
