Overview

Englishman River Falls is a scenic hike that loops around a canyon, passing two separate waterfalls that cascade over the rocks. The Provincial Park is located just outside of the community of Errington, BC, and set in a lush wet coast rainforest, which includes old growth and second-growth forest.

From the day-use parking lot, follow the trail down into the forest as you quickly make your way towards the canyon along the Englishman River. This description will follow a counter-clockwise route, so go right at the first junction and cross the bridge, enjoying the view of the upper falls as you do so.

After enjoying the view, continue your hike on the trail as it veers left and you walk in a downstream direction. The trail offers occasional glimpses of the canyon while passing through a beautiful rainforest with old Douglas fir and western red cedar trees. After hiking for sometime through the forest, the trail makes its way towards the river and crosses a bridge over the lower falls.

Enjoy the view of this second waterfall before crossing the bridge and going left, heading back towards where you started the loop. There are some viewpoints along the canyon that are worth stopping to enjoy.

When you reach the junction where you started, go right and walk back up to the trailhead at the day-use parking lot.
